Mechanical line leak detectors (MLLD) and electronic line leak detectors (ELLD/PLLD). Annual certification is required by EPA on every pressurized fuel line.
How we run it.
PTTI follows the PEI RP1200 Appendix C-9 procedure, a 17-step process using a calibrated test apparatus that simulates a 3 GPH leak at 10 PSI.
The calibrated apparatus is connected to the line and introduces a simulated leak at the metered rate while the line is held at metering pressure. The detector is then evaluated against the PEI RP1200 C-9 pass criteria.
A mechanical leak detector passes if the line holds at metering pressure for the full duration of the simulated leak. An electronic detector passes if it generates an alarm and, where applicable, shuts down the submersible turbine pump.
